The top 5 navigation and maps applications in Ghana for the fourth quarter of 2022 showed varied performance in terms of downloads, revenue, and active user trends. Here is a detailed breakdown of each app’s performance based on data from Sensor Tower.

Live Location, GPS Coordinates experienced fluctuations in weekly downloads, starting at around 6.5K in late September and dipping to approximately 4K by mid-December, before ending the quarter with a slight recovery to 5K. Revenue also varied, peaking at $22 in the final week of December. Active users saw a decline from 7.3K in late September to a low of 4.6K in mid-December, with a slight increase back to 5.5K by the end of the quarter.

Yango Maps, which was released in early December, showed impressive growth in weekly downloads, starting with 1K in late November and soaring to 25K by the end of December. Active users mirrored this trend, increasing from 6.4K in early December to nearly 30K by the end of the month.

Google Maps maintained a steady weekly download rate, with numbers ranging between 4.2K and 6K throughout the quarter. Despite not generating any revenue, the app boasted a strong active user base, stable around 150K to 162K.

GhanaPostGPS saw a decline in weekly downloads from 3.5K in late September to 1.8K by the end of December. Active users also decreased from nearly 38K to 31K over the same period.

GPS Navigation Live Map Road showed a decline in weekly downloads from 2.2K in late September to 2K by the end of December. Active users experienced a slight decrease from 4.3K to 4.2K over the quarter.
